LT1 Based Engine Tech 1993-1997 LT1/LT4 Engine Related

I did a search and still can't find.... What 1.6 RR fit under STOCK valve covers???

Just use your stock covers,it is no big deal to make them work as described above.Thats what I did.

Ok, so when you say cut the braces, you're just talking about the thin metal strips that go from the shell of the valve cover to the posts, right?

while u have them off why dont u just replace the stock valve covers? they are pretty ugly anyways

I've got the CC 1.6 SA rockers on my ride with the double springs and 306 cam. Its really not that big of a deal to mod the covers. All I did was take a pair of pliers and bend the lip where the braces are, took bout 10 minutes. Just make the lip straight, you'll see what I'm talking bout when u look at em. Get the factory gaskets, the are neoprene and can be used several times with no leaks, I've had mine off several times with no prob.

I have the GMPP 1.6 roller rockers on mine and the valve covers went right on without any modifications.

They are a composite material and muffle the valvetrain noise a little. Different internal webbing and gasket, too. A slight modification of the CCV hose will be needed, also.
Everything you need to put them on will run about $180 these days.
