A I

im thinking about getting some heads and a cam from a i, ill be sending my intake to them to get it ported also. ill have a stock crank and rods but forged pistons(fresh rebuild) and im wondering which heads to go with? the 185 190 or the 200s?? id like about 450 to the wheels and its a 6 speed/stock rear. i was just wanting to hear from people that have these set ups, and also what are the specs on the cams that come with these kits? what kind of times should i look for with this set up? along with a 58 mm throttle body and bigger injectors (not sure what size yet) and some sort of a tune maybe pcmforless

Well the 190 has been superceded by the 200cc so there is one choice eliminated. With such a lofty goal the 200cc would be the choice. Though your goal is unrealistic, possible yes but unrealistic.

The cam will depend on what they decide is right for your goals, with packages like this the exact cam specs are asked to be kept quiet, I will say my car makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 to the wheels through an auto and the cam is mid 220s on the intake side, I daily drive it this time of year, somewhere around 14-5K miles on the setup in little under a year and a half.

If you go with the 200cc package and a moderate cam like I have and you hold up your end of the setup 11s should be no problem atall. A stick with this much power will break the 7.5" axle though, the shock loads a clutch being released generates are much worse than an auto. Recently had to rebuild the rear on a friends third gen, on street tires with I think 360rwhp the spider gears broke in an Auburn Pro posi.

On the tune I would sooner recommend Madz28.com or Carolina Auto Masters, I have worked with both of them and with pcmforless. I am using Carolina Auto Masters in my own car and have helped several guys put Madz28 tunes in their cars always with good results and have had him do some pcm repair for me.

I agree with MY Iroc Z28; give them a call and talk with Phil or Ron. Listen to them and you will be happy.

I've had 2 set of AI heads and I am very please by what I've got from them. I had their 185cc heads on the stock bottom end with a GM847 cam and made 412rwhp and that was almost 5 years ago. Now I have their 200cc heads on a budget 355. But as said above, call them and tell them what your goals are and they'll give you what you need.

Ai 185cc CNC Heads

I've got a set of 185s sitting on the floor in the living room that will be
installed in the next couple of months. All I can say is they are beautiful.
I'll post up the results once they are installed and I've had a chance to
retune on the dyno.

Dealing with Phil and Ron was a pleasure. I give them a big

You will definately need the 200s and everything else to harmonize perfectly
to reach your goal.

We got you over to the dark side from that cam only business huh? Congrats. I look forward to your results. If you guys get Jeff to come out again, I'll tow up and get a retune.

Yep . . . I tried to come up with every reason possible not to do it. What
the heck, why not take apart a perfectly fine running engine with 35K
original miles for the 2nd time. And all of this for some low HP baby cam.
Maybe I need my head examined. LOL

Hopefully we can get Jeff back out sometime in the Jan-Mar range.

You think you have it bad? I'm on my 4th cam swap and 2nd head swap in 3 years.

Good luck with the swap. And if he returns, I'll be there with two cars.
