Are hypertech's year specific.

A buddy of mine has one he bought for his '94. I haven't sent my PCM in to get flashed yet but was thinking about using his hypertech in the mean time. Will this work on a '96? Im thinking no but thought i'd throw it out there if someone proves me wrong.

I think they are year specific. There might also be a difference between the OBDI and the OBDII.

Won't work. Two different OBD types.
