Hypertech thermostats made by MotoRad ?

I ordered a Hypertech thermostat from my local auto parts - I went to pick
the part up . . . so I'm holding a Hypertech box with the correct part number,
but the thermostat in the box is stamped with "MotoRad" and no degree
marking (as most thermostats do).

Does Hypertech re-package a standard MotoRad thermostat? If that's the
case, I'd rather spend $5 less and get the BETTER "fail safe" MotoRad model.

I'm waiting on an answer from Hypertech on this.

I just wanted to be sure someone didnt slip one thermo for another.

The fact remains - it seems that folks have been paying a premium price
for the "Hypertech" box, when in reality, they're buying an off-the-shelf
MotoRad thermostat! Maybe that's why Hypertech wont answer me

I'm definitely taking this back and exchanging it for the much better MotoRad
Fail Safe thermostat - a better thermostat for less money.

Just be sure it is the LT1 type and not the standard SBC one. That could account for a "much cheaper" one.

Yep! I went to the MotoRad site, did a search for the part for the car, got
the part number, and called around.

Want to send me that part number?

I was about to order a Hypertech 160 Degree Thermostat from Summit.

I'll share what I found on the MotoRad site.

Fail Safe Thermostat
7307-160
160 degree - Includes Seal.

The standard thermostat is 307-160.
