hypertech programmming
#3
Results from the Hypertech programmer vary. I tried back to back testing of one at the track and it made absolutely no difference in ET or mph. However, much to my surprise I witnessed a 95 Z28 dyno 10ft/lbs more torque and a little HP after adding the programmer. But for over 300$ I doubt its worth it, unless you have an auto and like playing around with your shift points.

i only got mine (USED) for 3.42 recalibration, lower cooling fan temps and to change shift points, beyond that, they r pointless....unless u really think u will go 255mph, then u can set the top speed limiter to that, and change tire height, and add shift firmness.

I have it for the gears and fans, but I have played with the programming. I asked hypertech if it would be safe to use the programming becuase the car was not totaly stock. They said it would be good. I tried it and it gave me a bit better throttle response and it cut about .08 of my times.

seems like i've seen the concensus that the programming is designed for nearly stock cars, and the benefits are zero or even negative when combined with some bolt ons.
as stated, works well for shift points, fans, rev limiter and the such but the programming other than that is pretty much a waste
you're better off just spending $100 on an ECM reprogram from pcmforless. can take care of all the limiter, gear change, fan temp as well as give you a custom program for the mods you have.
