Hypertech Power Programmer Plus

I've got a '95 Z28 M6

I purchased a second hand Hypertech Power Programmer Plus a couple years ago and just recently decided to test it out...ya, I'm lazy.

When I plug it into my computer port the programmer read our states it's for a 96-97 LT1. Should this still work on my '95?

The electric readout on the programmer tells me to put the ignition in the RUN position but not to start the motor. That statement flashes for a while and then the display goes blank.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not compatible?

Re: Hypertech Power Programmer Plus

Plain and simple it is for OBD2, your car is OBD1 so no work. Good news is that for an OBD1 tuning that is miles ahead of Hypercrap is also signifigantly cheaper than even most use Hypertechs. For your car you can get true custom unlimited update tuning for $60-75, put the Hypertech on ebay and get the car tuned right, at the very best Hypertech is canned tuning with just a few choices, the much cheaper custom tuning is infinetely adjustable you would not believe the number of parameters tuners can tinker with and the differences they can make in drivability.
