Did anyone catch the article last month I think in Super Chevy where they used a hydraulic roller cam and solid roller lifters? I wanted to know what the lash was set at, if there was any advantage to doing this, and if this was a compromise for those of us on limited budgets and don't want to buy the hydra-rev.

Do not buy hydra-rev kit. Buy Morel lifters!

btw: My engine came with ~190lbs close seat pressure springs. Big pressure for a hydrolic roller setup. So I order a set of Morel lifters (hydrolic ones).

 

I'm curious also, can you throw solid roller lifters on a hyrdo cam?

If a hyd is a billet core with the right heat treat then maybe it will last.
Ya missed the part where Comp said for a SHORT period-ie. a couple of dyno pulls.

It would be better to get a mechanical roller cam that the lobes are designed for the solid rollers.
Otherwise get some Morel's
The stock lifters will take 160 on the seat and 400/410 on the nose.

I have had bad luck with with the rev kit as to it putting metal from the location bar in the engine. Have heard of putting washers between the spring and bar but what a PITA.

 

How much close/open pressure can handle Morels (hydrolic) do you know ?

 

As stated in my post what the highest I have gone too.
On a hyd roller ya don't NEED more than that for spring pressure.
The Moral lifters will handle that much as well as the stockers.
