Hydra-Rev Kit & 1.7 rr's

Would the Hydra-Rev Kit work with 1.7 rr's?

Thanks!

Rev kits deal with lifters, i see no reason the ratio on the rockers you use to matter.

This should be discussed in LT1 Tech BTW, transfering...

Which lifters would work best with the XE 230/236 and 1.7 rr's if I decide to add the Hydra-rev Kit in order to increase the valvetrain longevity?

I don't think 1.7s and the 230/236 would be good for your valve springs Your going to have some major lift there. Id stick with 1.6s.

There are really only a few choice on lifters. Comp stock replacement, Comp Rs, Crane, maybe a few others at the most.

I always go with Comp Rs, but that's just me. BTW make sure your springs can handle that lift...

I'll have springs that are able to withhold such a lift...

The Hydra-Rev applies additional spring pressure to the lifter body, not the plunger. This vastly improves valvetrain stability which results in more power at higher RPM without any loss in low end torque. In addition, Hydra-Rev eliminates the danger and the potential damage to components that valve float can cause.

Typically, we don't need this on our cars. I was wondering whether or not this would help support the increased lift that I'd see if I decided to go with NSA 1.7 rr's. A good set of dual springs, like the Comp 987's, along with some Comp "R" lifters should assist in some extra horsepower at peak. I'm hoping to see further increases after I port my stock LT1 heads.

Methinks you'd be better off running some of the more aggressive 3100 series XE lobes instead with a 1.5RR... but thats my opinion .

Yeah I'd rather get the lift from the cam than the rockers. But that's just my .02
