Ok im buying this "SS" hood and i was looking at the pictures and the scoop opening looks sorta small.... It might be just me and my friend say its just me but I want you guys to throw an opinion in... Its the RK sport SS hood... Pictures can be seen here http://community.webshots.com/album/51637814GRdDmB ..... It just doesnt look right from that picture... I have the factory SS air box aswell.. Anyone know if it will fit???

 

If i had to guess id say it would fit from looking at the pics. Though it is a difrent hood design that a stock slp ss hood, so i cant say for sure as i have no hands on experience with this one... only the slp ss hoods.

 

Whats different about it?? I called RKsport and they said it was the exact same thing... Though it looks different to me too but i cant put my finger on it..

 

Well correction, its been a few months since i had my ss, so i looked up some pics i have and maybe the hoods are identical.

Lol... Me and my friend have been looking through car domain and cant find any close ups of an SS scoop... All im really wondering is if the hood with a ram air system would be better than the K&N FIPK... Thats what it really boils down too...

Nick, no a regular cai is better than a ss setup. I had a 97 ss and removed the ram air and put on a cai. Heat soak really isnt that big of an issue, but its the 3 90* turns that make the ss ram air not effecient.

 

it just looks like not as much air could flow through the hood apposed to that huge filter on the K&N..
