Exclamation Huge problem I need help!

Ok about a couple of weeks ago i posted a thread bout how my car started to run like **** after getting rear-ended. NO ONE REPLIED - Thanks guys......

Well i started taking the plugs out. all were ok exept the # 1 plug was black.... Im thinking from fuel not oil. I cleaned all the plugs and bought a new #1 plug. I also have the valve covers off too. I have verified that #1 cylinder has spark. But the car runs better with the #1 spark plug wire disconected. ANOTHER THING that is going wrong is the #1 exhaust push rod shoots crazy amounts of oil out of it even at idle!!! It shoots out like up to 5 feet away from the car... none of the other cylinders do this. its a constant spray too.

ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME

I read your other post and didnt have any idea, sorry.Maybe thats why you didnt get a response. The oil shooting out of the push rod may need the rocker tightened up.Your firing problem could be due to a faulty seal, rings, or a bad injector.

Collapsed lifter is my bet with the oil shooting. There is a hole in the middle of the pushrod that provides oil to the rocker connection. If you have a collapsed lifter, then it can just shoot that oil out at your 30+ psi.

Try a search and see what you can about collapsed lifters.

Is that one rocker at the exact same geometry when you set it as the rest. Get level with them and check that. If you have a collapsed lifter it should be lower than the others by a bit.

Had a '58 Chevy that did that, but with all 16.It would shoot oil slam over the top of the fenders on both sides.Wind out second and shut it off.If you shifted to 3rd the oil light would come on .It had pumped all the oil up top and none in the pan.
It was a used cam and lifters.A new set of solid lifters from GM solved the problem. Come to find out someone had drilled the oil holes in the side of the lifter.
Sounds like you have a bad lifter.I would get some large Smoking pipe cleaners and put in that pushrod for a temp fix like we did,a kind of plug, way back when.
Lot of work to change one lifter.

I didn't read far enough!!!
Is it making any tapping noise--Does the valve seem to move as much up and down as the other's.Is there any metal in the oil?

Not as much as on a 2.2 4 cylinder Chevy S-10.... NOt that this has anything to do with it, but damn, you have to take the WHOLE engine apart to get to the stinkin lifters....

I think my Lifter for the #1 exhaust is collapsed. Now on my number 1 spark plug being fouled, could this bad exhaust lifter be the cause?
