HP #'s
HP #'s
Any ideas on what you would expect the hp #'s to look like on the following setup?
1997 SS A4 tranny. Mods: MSD Superconductor plug wires, chambered exhaust, slp ceramic coated headers, and QTP 3inch electric cutout.
My mechanic ran the LT1 edit program and then pulled 256 on the dyno. That number seems kind of low to me...would this be about right or do you think something may be off somewhere?
Thanks for any input you can offer.

Re: HP #'s
I'd say your car is in good running condition. Those numbers look right to me. You really don't have any power adding mods. Stock usually dyno like 240 on an A4. So figure those headers and cutout gave you 16HP sounds accurate.
Plus the ram air doesn't usually work well on a dyno since its hard to simulate 60MPH winds. So you could probably expect that you are making a little more on the street.

Re: HP #'s
they seem a tad bit low...but really only about 10-15hp.
i would think an SS with headers, cutout and a tune would put down in the 260s...aproaching 270.
could be the dyno as well.
most bolt on cars, tuned, run right around 300hp....and the major bolt on is headers and exhaust.
so i can't imagine all the smaller bolt ons adding up to make that car hit 300hp.
but then again...what kind of headers?? shorties or LTs??
shorties are probably costing you 10hp alone
