How's my custom CAI look?

I just finally got this thing together this past weekend. Home Depot parts for 40.00 and the air filter 20.00 for a total of 60.00.
Just wondering what you fine people think

That looks real clean...I really like the red with the chrome down by the filter.

Yeah, that's a great job you did! Good work! I wish I had engine-uity like that instead of wasting my $$$ on a moroso :-) Awesome job!

Hey Redwolf, how difficult was that to make and to install? Would anyone know how something like this performs compared to say a SLP or Moroso? I like the idea of a cheaper cai and it looks pretty cool too! Could you tell me what size pipe (how long, diameter, and fittings) you used? What size filter is that? Sorry for all the questions, that just looks like a good working cai. Great job man!

just go to home depot or any "real" hardware store and get all the stuff you need from there.
here's my list i have on my car from there:
3" PVC, 3" 90 degree elbow, PVC cement, rubber hose fitting adapter, hole drilling bit, strong glue, (2) 3" stainless steel couplings with rubber inserts(much cleaner and better looking than the regular rubber couplings everyone else uses), spray paint, and a house floor heat grille. The go to either auto parts store or online and buy a air filter with rubber coupling.
Now just do a search in here on how to relocate the ABS unit and also a search on the install.

total cost for everything i spent = $60.00

Thumbs up

Nice job ! Food for thought for those that haven't yet spent $200 on a store bought one!

Looks really sweet, I like the paint and stickers.
By the way I think you meant 3" 90deg. elbow. I'm going to test my engine-uity, and make one myself.
And a side note, I'm going to use ABS drain pipe, it has a thinner side wall. Trying to shed pounds.
Thanks for the inspiration bro, now I really have to get to work.
