How's the clip on the A4 shift **** come out?!

Argh, I can't get that crappy clip out! Is there anything to do besides grab it with a pair of pliars and pull? It just won't come out. I snagged it a bit with some damned vice grips and still couldn't pull it out, wtf. I need to take the **** off so I can take off the console to cut a piece.

Just put it in neutral and pull the clip out. Then pull up on the **** and it should come off.

I've never had a problem pulling the clips out.

I do have a problem with the clip not going back in all the way with the 4th gen Camaro shifter I installed into the Formula.
Might be a longer clip on the 4th gens.

Use either a flat screw driver or niddle plyers to remove the clip/staple and should twist off
