Exclamation how to tell the year of an lt1

I bought a used engine from Speed Automotive a while back, and was told it was a '94 . It was complete with all acc. and the harness still plugged in. But I just got a call from Bryan at pcmforless saying I sent him a obdII pcm. WTF. the motor has a non vented opti, a maf, only 2 O2 sensors. doesn't that make it a '94? the pcm was all plugged in when I got it,and looked original . Is there any way to know for sure what year the motor is? does it matter? Thanks, Steve N

Should be able to get the numbers off the motor and cross-reference it?
