how to properly jack up my motor for longtube install?
hey id like to jack up the driver side of my motor this evening to slide my longtubes into place, but ive never jacked a motor up before. which bolts do i disconnect? where do i jack from? if it goes unsupported, what will happen? how high can i jack it up? also id like to get my headers in, but i dont know if itd be better to lower or raise the driver side to get them in. what have yall done in the past?
Are you sure that you need to jack up the motor for your install? A lot of people have done the install and not needed to jack up the motor.
I myself have a set of Jet-hots sitting in my room awaiting installation and I do not intend on jacking up the motor.

it depends on how high you have the car off the ground. have u tried slipping them in without lifting the motor?? you should have no problems with the drivers side, its the pas. side that gives most people problems. the only thing that gave me problems was about a 1/2" where the header was hitting the tranny.... so i unbolted the tranny mount and just jacked the tranny up an inch, and the header went right into place. try it without jacking up anything and see how it goes, it def. WONT slip right in, but you have to work at it for a while. good luck!
I agree with much the previous post: get the car up really high or unbolt pass. motor mount/trans. crossmember . Personally, I thought the Mufflex y-pipe install was more troublesome than the Hooker LTs. You may also want to consider a heat shield of sorts around the A/C evaporator box on passenger side. I also applied heat sleeving to all of my spark plug wires (plug end), because their is very little room (check cylinder #5 close) due to the design of the header tubes. I modified a 2" SS band clamp to seal the joint on header tube #1. Felpro exhaust gaskets also highly recommended. Good luck.
Where is my money Reuter! You never got the opti to us after three weeks (supposed to have been here in three days).
Doesn't get here after a week and a half, we posted, you said it was a mistake, we gave you the benefit of the doubt and waited another week and a half. No opti still so we had to buy another one.
You said you would send the check back, we said send it, and now YOU CASHED OUR CHECK?!?! What is going on?!?! Paypal the money back to madelisle@yahoo.com today if you are an honest man.

the drivers side you shouldnt have to lift the motor up to get the header in... did have to unbolt the steering shaft and push off to the side. Make sure the car is high enough in the air.
The passenger side we did have to raise the motor up a bit we took the bolt out the motor mount and took a peice of wood and layed ont he jack and jacked on the oil pan, becareful not to dent it...
