my car wont start, my starter wire has been up against one of the primarys on my headers, i was gettin a crinkle noise for a while and now she just wont even attempt to start. whats the best way to pop start our cars. push and drop it in 2nd ? then push the clutch in and let her warm up or will 1st gear be good enough? I gotta get this beast up to my grandparents garage to do this damn IM LEAK ......

I don't see why it shouldn't be safe to push start our cars. Like you said, just pop it into second, and it should be fine.

 

It shouldn't hurt anything. I've done it in the past when my battery bought-the-farm when I was at work. 2nd gear worked for me.

 

ive done it on many an occation. not possitive if its safe tho, but my car still works lol

 

I've done it with mine a few times, if you are on a hill or even a slight incline where you can get it rolling quick enough you can jump it in 2nd, 1st is sometimes too much and it wont turn it over. With a little honda motor with low compression 1st will work, but with the higher compression in these motors it's easier in 2nd gear or higher. It never hurt anything doing it in mine.

 

I am in a flat level parking lot.... can I push this thing enough myself to get her started? how fast do I gotta push this beast? THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLYS TOO....

 

You can probably do it on a flat parking lot but probably not by yourself, unless you are built like an NFL linebacker or something Get somebody to keep pushing it while you pop it, you might want to try 3rd if you're not on any hill but get it rolling pretty good first. Good luck

 

you might need some buds for the help, but push it pretty fast you need to really get it going otherwise it will bog on you and just lock the tires! then youll b tired of pushing and wont have enough muscles to do it again! LOL! its a heavy car man! good luck, but yea push it and pop it in second like you can jam it in gear or push in the clutch, and then put it in second and dump the clutch and you have to give it some gas to get going once you get going, then just push the clutch in shift to neutral and keep it runnin, then drive it home, oh and dont kill it on the way to your gramps house lol! jus playing man! good luck!

 

WHEW! So i tried pushin the beast myself, I got it goin pretty good to but all didnt work so I had mom and the women help me and she started right up in 2nd ... anyways when I get up there for ****s and giggles I turn her off and turn the key and the bitch started right back up.. what gives with that ? either way shes up there and I'm gonna try to tackle all the crap over the weekend.... WISH ME LUCK
