i want to make sure i keep up on these things. i've been so paranoid the last couple days that i'm actually hearing phantom rocker clicks with everything that makes noise on my car. i had one get loose on me a week ago just after i got it all back together. i got them all back on right and adjusted them with the engine running and tightened the poly locks really tight. how often do you guys pull the covers to adjust them, if at all? basically, are these things maintenance free unless you hear one making noise or should i do regular check ups on them?

btw- i have the 1.6 pro mags.

Let's see...put the motor together 14 months ago...haven't touched them since. Daily driven.

 

Same here. Almost 14 months to the day. When I tighten the rockers I adjust them about 1/16 of a turn less than I normally would, tighten down the setscrew, and then use a wrench to tighten the poly lock/setscrew against the rocker stud. This tightens them down far more than an allen wrench will, and I've never had one come loose.

 

No adjustment needed here.

No need to be messing with them and they actually got so much quieter now after a few hundred miles.
