I figured I could go 11's with a stock intake. The cam will be as radical as possible. Whatever will match the heads.

Btw, I see that an LE3 package puts down about 440rwhp at best with a stock intake. I was taught that the single plane would pick me up about 80hp.
you can go 11s with bolt ons

What is the ultimate goal? Dyno results with poor track numbers or decent dyno numbers with outstanding track results. there is a difference and you have to decide what your goal is.

Well, with that said about the cam, then yea you COULD do a 10 second run, as long as you have traction and can shift.

they said 80 hp?? I really doubt that much..however, I'm sure you'd make at least 15-20 depending upon the cam. if its a solid roller 25x/26x on a 108 or 110 lsa, then you should hit a high 10 i suppose on a perfect day. my car is totally gutted with 1 seat and no radio, hvac, etc. and i drive it every day with header bullets...people line up for a ride at the grocery store even.

lol you dont think it makes it any less of a "street" car though? To me a gutted car just reminds me too much of a racecar ... I mean, they have thier place, especially in street/strip applications, but for a mostly street car, I wouldnt do it. At least not with a convertible, their already heavy enough.

Whether you run a 10.9, 11.9 or 12.9 with that setup will depend more on the suspension of the car and your driving skill, but a heads/cam 383 with a single plane has the potential to skim a 10 or net a low 11 with the right conditions.

With those cubes/heads, a single plane isnt going to free up 80hp, it may score you 10-20 peak. But it will let you keep revving and have a more useful powerband.

You guys are wimps about weight reduction. I'm just gonna slap my stock LT1 into a rail car and run 10's.

not to stray to far from the main thread but you can see what is needed in my sig...

As far as weight reduction goes, I have pulled a lot of little unneeded stuff (remeber a lot of little things add up) from my car and it is very much still a street car with stock rims/tires, AC, PS, 10 speaker stereo, all crash supports, airbags, stock carpet and interior, and it has a raceweight of 3490 with a 200+ # driver and 3/4 tank of gas. I was PMing with Shon about this last week and hope to pull a lot more weight (another 200# or more) out next season to get deeper into the 12's...

i have a similar setup to what you ared going to rund and my times are in my sig. the car is still on a base tune and stock fuel pump the car is full weight leather, t-top, ac, with heavy wheels and trapped very well just no traction. After my suspension and 12 bolt this winter i am shooting for high 10s

A dyno graph might help us determine what you might run.

You need alot of suspension and seat time with a M6.
But once you get it right I don't see why it wouldn't run 10's if you get it around 3200# and good 60'
