I have a 96 Formula (see sig).

I have a custom built MDF speaker enclosure in the trunk, and a custom built MDF amp rack on the hump behind the back seat.

These two items seem to sit the rear of my car awefully low.

It's so low in fact that when launching at the drag strip, the car hits the bump stops. One of them is now damaged.

I have new stops on order so I can replace them.

I looked under my car yesterday and noticed that there is only about 1-1/2 inches of space between the bump stop and the axle tube when the car is sitting on level ground.

I have done no suspension mods.

Would someone check their suspension and see how much distance there is between the stops and axle tubes on a stock ride height car (16" wheels if it matters)...

Stock shocks are like marshmellows especially with some mileage on them.
