i did a 2800 midwest stall that i am regretting at this point. fairly gutless in the low end. im going to be upgrading to a 3600 yank.

3200 Fuddle. Yank quality, yet sooo much cheaper.

Nothing below a 3200. I went with a 3600 Yank and that cam.

do you have a shift problem with that high of a stall in the 94? i thought 94's had a shift issue with stalls above 2800 or so?

Dunno, since i haven't had the combo together yet. I still have to send the tranny off to CPT and drop the motor in before i can start it.. Hopefully if I do have any problems it woun't be anything i can't tune out w/ LT1 Edit.

You could always give your exact combo to the converter company that you plan to purchase from and they can give you their recommendation as well.

what do most people shift at with the cc503. I called yank and they told me that if i shift at 6500 rpm, i should get a 4000 stall. that sounds like it would be too much for my setup.

Dont listen to people who have never owned a LT1. Trust us, You need a 3200 to a 3600 stall. A Fuddle, performance series 3200 - 3600 would be ideal for you. With a 3200 stall you are going to leave the line at 2800 - 3000 rpms.... Right where the cc503 begins to make some real power. Shift at 6200 and you will run mid to low 12's, cam only with all bolt on's. You cant go wrong.

Don't be afraid of the stall.
I run a 4k Coan converter in a bolt on (stock internal) LT1.

Its almost too much fun.

Not to jack this thread but, what size gear, tires, and rpm are you turning at the finish line?

It was a 3.73 gear with 26 inch tires. Unfortunately I never got to the track before I broke the 10 bolt rear.
Now I have a 4.10 spooled 12 bolt getting ready to go in the car with 28 inch tires.
I have the rev limiter set at 6250 so we shall see if I run out of gear.
