I'm just kinda curious as to how much oil other's LT1's use between a typical oil change...ie 5000km or ~ 3003miles. I've noticed that my car has started use more oil than it used to...just wonder what 'normal' is!?

Couple tablespoons....but that's just what comes out of the intake manifold.

 

no oil at all. 130,000 miles. Fixed the instake leak like 4 months ago.

 

Aside from a small front seal leak, nothing at all.

I have never added any oil between changes. Car has 130K

 

I take just about as much as I put in 5 Liters + or -.1994 Z 70k miles

 

I seem to have a few oil leaks as the underside is always a bit greasy. However I never have to add a drop between changes and I usually wait till 5 or 6 thousand miles before changing it.. I use mobile 1 10w30 BTW (hot here in FL). The car is a '96 and it just crossed the 100,000 mile mark (103,000 to be exact).

 

I am losing about 1/2L every oil change. I have a small (maybe getting worse) leak on the oil pan (sounds like others are too).

Whoever has the intake leak....get it fixed right away. Mine leaked at the back of the intake into my bell housing and caused my clutch to wear out prematurely $$$$

Same as the rest, not one drop of oil lost. 110,000 on a 1994 Trans Am.

 

Maybe a 1/4 qt or so between oil changes or 3000-4000 miles. Hardly noticable.

 

The only oil my LT1 wastes is the minute amout that always manages coat my pass side valve cover.

 

125,000+ miles, no oil between changes, mobile one 15w50 summer 5w30 winter, change around 4000-6000 miles

 

...hummmm. My TA seems to use a good litre between changes!! Is this excessive given my mods? I haven't noticed any leads while the car is parked. There is some oil on the underside, though.
