How much lower of a 1/4 mile time if I had some 18 inch chrome rims on? P.S. on a stock M6 LT1

If im not mistaked 18's of the same width would actually slow you down in the 1/4 from 16s...has to do with play in the sidewall and other factors if i remember correctly.

Yah..definately slow you down. Maybe not so much the sidewall flex but the fact that you are turning a bigger tire/rim, more mass.

Yo man I think that some bling bling chrome rims would atleast take off 2 seconds in the 1/4..........J/k

When you go from 16s-17s or 18s ect the larger you go the slower your car will be. plus they will be heavier. It does the oppostie of getting rear end gears.

Did you mean how much higher time? Yea the 18's will slow you down just a little bit.......rotational mass is the worst kind.......should be quite minimal......depending on how much weight you are actually adding.......weight them and then post the weight difference.......we could give you better time differences you could expect

Oh yeah, well I do mean slower... They are Chorme Akuza Sublimes (they look so good) if you wanna look them up. Also would they help on freeway speeds because they're already moving, so I figure maybe theres a little momentum maybe?

Stock rims are extremely light for what they are, around 18 pounds. Chrome no-name bling wheels are generally quite heavy, I'd guess those rims would be 26+ pounds. The tires would also weigh a good bit more each. that's 10+ pounds per wheel x4 = 40 pounds plus of extra rotating mass. PLUS the polar moment of inertia is much higher, because that rotating mass is located farther out from center then on the stock wheels because they are bigger wheels.

Salad shooters vs. my konig 17s with 275/40 is worth 1 tenth and 1-2 mph consistently at the track for me.

Yeah, the extra rotating mass would slow you down.
