Angry How much life did I take from my engine?

On sunday I decided to flush my radiator... well, everything went normal until monday night when it overheated... it seems some air bubbles are stuck in the engine and it made my engine overheat It reached the top of the temperature gauge for a few mins until it suddenly dropped... Everything seems normal right now... engine is strong... what else can be harmed when overheating?

if it suddenly dropped i can guarentee that you fried your sending unit...or you happen to get lucky and that was a air bubble that worked its way out at the right time

If everything is running fine, I wouldnt worry about it. One question though, why did you run it hot like that for a few minutes? Again, if its running fine, you might have dodged a bullet but next time as soon as you see it getting hot like that, kill it!

Well, I was confused and kept thinking "must be an air bubble..." but after a few mins it was getting even hotter, so I killed it.. it did reach the 260 mark when on and the CHECK GAUGES light came on... the temp changed so quickly It took me a few mins to react

I have done several radiators that always happens. If it jumps up and down the engine isnt that hot the air bubble is. Your engine temp probably didnt rise at all.

That's what I was thinking... it just dropped to a normal temp too fast...
