How much knock does it take before timing is retarded. And how much before the SES light comes on. Part of the reason Im asking this is that im considering trying an octane additve to see if there is a benefit from it. motor is about 11:1 -11.2:1 tops, and i did remove most of the rough surface from the combustion chamber, so I doubt im getting detonation. But if the ECM works like I think it does (increases timing until there is detonation and then backs it off) There may be a benefit to the booster. Any reccomentations which one to use.

 

dont bother, octane boosters claim like 4 octane points when u really get like .4
