How much improvement?

So to start off the car. It's a 95 z28 A4 with 68,000 miles all stock i mean it's the way it came from the factory. About 3 weeks ago I raced a 2006-2007 mustang GT with catback and CAI. He beat me opened me up like car difference. So here's my question. I'm getting tired of crap talk so I got 3.73s and the hypertech programmer to adjust my speedometer. K&N cai, underdrive pulleys and b&m shift kit. It's all going in this weekend. Is that enough to beat this guy? I don't want to go out there and lose again.

Depends on the distance...gears will help you get out of the hole a little quicker..CAI and pulley's might have freed up 10-15...Shift kit will help a tiny bit....

Who knows- your friend might have had a terrible start and will beat you even more this time...maybe he had the best start ever and you will just beat him stock. Too many variables to say for sure.

Yeah sorry should have put that information on there. The gt is an automatic too so the take off was pretty much the same everytime. We raced three time and the outcome was the almost same all 3 times. And as for distance it's 1/4 mile.

Depending on what gear you have now, (I would assume 3.23's?) you might get enough jump that he won't be able to run you down.

Just keep in mind that the under drive pulley doesn't do much on an LT1, because the water pump is not driven by the serpentine belt. Your next upgrades should be the exhaust (full cat-back at a minimum, headers and a cat-back at best), and a set of 1.6X roller rockers.

When my 97 formula had full exhaust, intake, and tune i was able to beat the newer gts pretty easily.

Yeah the cars original. It's got the factory 3.23 I was hoping that with just the gears I'd be able to get a good enough launch on him that he wouldn't be able to catch up.
