ive seen the stock crank go to 7k rpm and hold up to 500 rwhp. ive seen the stock rods go to 7 k rpm and also hold up to 470rwhp, and ive seen the pistons go to 470rwhp on a 100 shot of nitrous.

the stock rods have gone to 450 rwhp and the crank to 500 rwhp on many cars on this board. the pistons are the weakest point and it not HP that blows them its detonation. so its all up to proper tuning.

I've read the same thing. So, tune it right and you will be o.k. I only run H-beam 4340 forged rods b/c I run a supercharger in my truck and have 190,000 psi rod bolts and main bolts but the lower half is the weak link in a blower motor BUT I'm still running cast crank(as GM NEVER made a stock forged crank for it's 400 smallblocks although Scat and other companies do now. I also run Keith Black hypereutic pistons and I'm pushing 450HP/over 500FtLbs at the rear wheels(and it's a longbed so my driveshaft is about as much as one aluminum cylinder head. lol. So, you can imagine AT the motor I'm making close to 500 HP.
