~350 horsepower will do it with an auto.

I was making 325rwhp and ran 12.30@110mph a couple years back with the Hotcam setup and stock heads. I now run 120mph N/A but haven't dynoed yet.

Re: how much horsepower are u making with 110 to 111 mph traps.

Let me add something here. When I was making 368rwhp/336rwtq in an M6 I trapped 111mph all night at the track. It was humid out and people said they were running slower than normal. I went back to the track 2 weeks later with NO CHANGES at all to my car. I ran .3 faster and 3mph faster all day. I ended up running 114mph with 368rwhp. Now, if your car is runing a solid 111mph in good weather than I agree, 350rwhp would get you there. If you ran that 111mph in some crap weather, than you may have more mph in her, which means the 350rwhp will go up.

rwhp means squat...seriously.

A car making less rwhp with a matching gear/stall setup with a good suspension will run better than you think.

From my experience in a lighter f-body, 330-340 rwhp should get you there.

You must account for different tracks(some are down hill), weather, the traction of the track itself and most importantly, the driver.

A car on a track that is known to be fast on a -DA day with killer traction with a good driver is going to run out of the ordinary...by no means a bar to measure against.

Edit - I also played with locking the tq...lost 1 mph and 1/10 ET when I was running low 12's.

I'm also going to go ahead and say its hard to find rwhp just by knowing the MPH. There are to many variables. I dyno'd 300 to the wheels but was trapping at 107. Its hard to think that 3mph is equal to 50 wheel hp.

Just my .02

My old 93 TA (hotcam with stock heads and 6-speed) dyno'd 330 to the wheels and it only ran 13.1@106.5 on BFG DR's at Gainesville. Different tracks and dynos, numbers will always vary.

so did u see better numbers with it not locking through the quarter?? seems that u would being that there would be no drop in rpms but then again it would be slipping touchy very touchy?

It felt like the car was bogged down some.
