Question How much gain going to LT4 heads & Intake???

I just spent an hour searching and didn't find any answers to my questions. I want to know how much HP and Tq gain one would get by swapping on LT4 Heads and Intake? this is on a LT1 camaro. How much of this gain would be attributed to the heads? and how much to the intake? also how much theoretical Hp could you produce if you had a good port job on the LT4 heads and intake? Thanks,

TTT, uh maybe since i hanv't gotten any replies this would be better suited to another section on the board, but I thought LT1 tech would have been appropriate...hmm....

The heads will give some gain but only with a cam, we just put an xe230/236 in my buddies car with headers & stock heads, we're gonna drive around in it tommorow & see how well she performs

If you have an A4, you prolly won't gain anything. If your not planning on going with a bigger shortblock later, they are almost pointless. You will get better results by getting your stock heads ported, and adding a little bigger valve. The smaller runners of the LT-1 head are better suited for stock bottom ends. Lt-4 runners are to big and kill velocity. The only way I would think of doing it is with a M6, and I still think you'll have better gains w/ the ported LT-1.

Unless your shooting for big hp i would not wast your money on lt-4 heads and worthless intake. Just pull yours port them and get some 1.6rrs they will out flow stock lt-4s all daylong, and cost half.Get a cc305/306 cam you should be close to 390rwhp.

Thanks for the help. I guess LT4 heads and intake don't give nearly the performance boost i thought they would. I have heard of LT4 kits, that have cam, heads, intake, and 1.6rr's that make 450rwhp. I guess the cam and 1.6rr's have a lot to do with it. oh, and 96firechikin (or whatever your name was), yeah that'd be great if i could get your dyno results....thanks agian...

Like the other guys said, without a cam, not too much, especially with out a port job. I have the Lt4 heads, stage II ported by GTP, and lt4 intake to match, with lt4 hotcam, and new springs valve, ect, 1.6 rockers, and I now see 381.0rwhp and 348.9 rwtq. I wouldn't suggest the lt4 hotmcam. I'm about to change mine. It just limits the numbers that I want really bad. But it is still a great mild cam. Probly goin with a cc306 or xe 224/230 or something else, still ahven't decided. Good luck

I have a feeling the guy who told me had RWHP mixed up with Flywheel HP. So that 450 figure was probably at the flywheel.
