how much for an engine rebuild?
I'm not you so i don't know your motives, but for all the work to pull an engine and put one back in, I would like to do some things to the motor while it was out and easy to work on...(heads and cam). I dont have any idea if you want to go fast in this car... but if you ever plan on going fast in the future now would be a good time to do the performace parts.

Figure ~$700-800 for Remove & Reinstall...maybe a bit less if the place doing the rebuild does it.
For machine work, here's what you can ballpark, I think my region prices are a bit lower. If you're just doing a stock rebuild, I'd just go get one out of a junkyard for less than $1000 or off the classifieds and run that.
Also, go buy yourself all the tools to remove the engine, it'll still be cheaper than paying someone to do it.

Re: how much for an engine rebuild?
I have a buddy that can do it for $700 labor and you buy whatever parts you want put in, and he puts them in for no extra cost. If you live near the DFW area I can give you his number or call him for you. There are a couple of guys on the board that have used him, he does a real good job.
