How much clearance between crank pulley and opti?

Title says it all...my belt got shredded up today and I'm thinking one of my pulleys is sticking out too far. I put my old belt on and it looks like it sits crooked on the tensioner, almost like the crank pulley is out too far. If anyone can give me a measurement as to how far it should be from the opti, I would appreciate it.

I guess a basic question is too much. Maybe I should have posted this in advanced tech? Carry on with your CAI/exhaust threads...

Stock dampener? If so, it shoudl be on as far is it needs to go for the crank bolt to thread in all the way. Wit the crank bolt threaded in fully it should be aligned perfectly.

Your post was only 3.5 hours old...having a bad day or something? I don't think that attitude will get you much help.

On my '96 the distance from the timing cover to outside of the hub flange is 2 7/16 ". This measurement is taken from the bulge around the crank seal and not from the seal itself which is in slightly farther.
