How much can I expect to pay to replace Cat in Cali??

I think I need a new cat to pass inspection. How much should it run to replace with oem cat? Is there any advantage to go to high flow cat with stock exhaust? And I would like a little louder muffler, any suggestions or expectations on a cost just to change muffler? Thanks!

which part of cali do you live?? i know a guy in souther cali that can install and high flow CAT for $200 (parts and labor). if not go to pepboys and get a cat for under $100. it wont last very long though.

if really wanna get a free flow. i would suggest to get an off road pipe. i got one, but not yet installed. off road pipe is there to replace the CAT. however, when emission time comes, you can take the off road pipe off, and install an aftermarket CAT from pepboys for $70. therefore, the CAT will be fresh. high flow cat will work better than any other stock CAT. hope that helps
