How much Break in time?

I need to know how long of time/mileage I should break in the new parts for. Any ways you all reccomend doing it or whatever helps.I just got installed:

New tranny casing
PI Vig 2800
3.73's
Tranny Cooler
PCMFORLESS

I know I am going to have a break in time how much?

To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for your help!!!

If it is a lockup TC I was told to go easy on it for 50 lock/unlock cycles. My new tranny? I asked my tranny builder about breakin and he said quote " Thats a good tranny, don,t worry about it"
I took that to mean I could hammer on it immediatly but I been taking it easy for about 75 miles now and I got on it a bit last nite about half throttle and yep this tranny/TC combo is the sh*t. Its a conservative stall but I love it so far.

If gears are properly set, no break in time. But I would take it easy just in case.

Good luck!

Another vote for the no break in time an engine builder for a pro mod team once told me there really isnt any break in time for an engine.

The whole thing of varying the speeds and 500 miles will probably be what I do unless anybody else has any suggestions.

The engine is a whole other story. The reason for the break in for an engine is pretty dependant on the rings and setting in. If you run a tool steel, plasma moly, or chromoly, there will be very little wear if set properly up.

Now if you run a cast ring, which seals very well, you do need a break in or the rings don't set correctly.

No matter who sets up your gears you DO need to break them in. One reason for the initial (15 miles cool down for 1 hour, repeat 2 more times) is so the gears can temper. You also need to break them in for atleast another 200 miles to develop a wear pattern between the ring and pinion gears. It isn't worth taking chances....our rears are weak enough as it is.

Each to his own but the manufacturers give break-in procedures for a reason.
