I have Nitto DRs 245/50/16s with most of the suspension mods.

How much better would I hook if I went to a 315/35/17 ??

What brand? Nittos? Good Year Eagle F1?

 

I think the sidewall will pretty much offset the decreased width.

You need to play with your tirepressure, or maybe your pinion angle if you have a tq arm.

maybe some throttle modulation? I have no probs pulling 1.95 on a lowered car if i don't screw up massively otherwise.

If your traction is that bad, maybe you need to look into some 15 inch wheels and some 275/50/15 drag radials, I run Weld Pro Star XPs 15X10 on the rear with the above tire and its working great for me. I have switched to a purely drag race setup on my car though cause I got tired of spinning off the line and gettin my *** handed to me.
So far its made one hell of a difference.
