How many of you burn plug wire #5 with long tubes???

I put on my Jet hot hooker long tubes and plug number 5 ( 3rd one back on drivers side) sits really close to one of the primaries.. My bud jason burned his after the jet hot hooker long tube install. It burned through the heat shield.

Right now we rigged a wire over the top of the valve cover on mine and he's got some valve cover wire looms holding his in place..

How many of you have the same problem and are any of you running the your #5 wires the regular way to your opti with long tubes.?

i looped a zip tie around one of the metal brake lines near the master cylinder and ran the wire through the loop so it doesn't come close to the primaries. no way that thing'll burn now

i just turned the boot towards the rear of the car and tucked the wire along a little groove on the head. my headers aren't jet hot coated and i still haven't burned any of them.

Thats exactly what i did and have not had a problem since. I have the SLP's, which i think hug the block a little more with that primary.

it's a whole lot cheaper than buying the OVC wire looms. i'm glad it works for someone else too.

I got some nice anodized ones from summit for 30 bucks, they work well, look good and haven't had any problems yet. I wouldn't try running them any other way but over the covers, cause wires are pricey, so why take chances.

I you use the electrical plastic ties and do a single rap on the wire prior to tighting up the tie, you can manage to position the wire where you want it under the LT's sucessfully....
