How many timing cover/front cover bolts are there

Just putting the timing cover back on and I have a couple of holes left. I have the three for the opti and two other holes left. One hole is on the left and one is on the right, both are above the lower most bolt on the cover. Are those holes just there for now reason? They seem to be blocked off??? Thanks

Cool

Those are probably the holes for the dowel pins. If they are raised up a bit from the actual flat portion of the timing cover, this is the case.

Hey thanks Nomad, I just took another look at them and shoved a meter lead into the holes to see if there was actually a hole there and NOPE! No place for a bolt to go?? I thought that maybe I were missing some bolts but looks like I'm not. And they are flush mounted and not raised. What are they there for?

I'm stupid, they are flush. Those 2 should be for the dowel pins that the timing cover sits on.

I'm stupid too i guess, for not looking which holes were for the dowel pins. I ended up taking the cover back off to find this out. To bad I didn't read your post before I did that. Oh well it was easy to take off. I just didn't want to have to break the seal you know. Thanks for the reply Nomad.
