How Many

Just out of curiosity, how many plugs does an LT1 need to start? My friend's car won't start and he thinks some of the plugs have fouled out, but he has only checked 2 of them. Will one bad plug cause the engine to not start up? It cranks, just won't turn over. Thanks.

i think you need at least half- but then again it depends which ones are bad too...
why not spend $25 and get new plugs

I think you need 4 or 5. I would check the connector running to the opti as well as the coil wire and connectors for the coil.

Just a thought: make sure that you have fuel pressure to the rail. To check it just unscrew the black cap over the pressure release valve on the back of the intake (it sticks right up so you can't miss it.) and hit the schrader valve after you've tried to crank it.

Good luck!

i highly doubt its the plugs that are the problem. probably more like the coil, opti, or fuel related.
