I am having problems with emission. The HC is to high so I was thinking about making the airpump run all the time during the emission day to lean out the unburnt fuel.

Is there a easy way to do this?

I think it will burn the pump up if it runs constantly. I have a friend who uses one to vent the crankcase pressure and he said he can't use it for long periods of time.

I was thinking of that too. But I just need to have it running for 10 minutes thats all. Then it all goes back to normal.

Unless you block the stock secondary air plumbing and divert the additional air to after the O2 sensors, the ECU will think the engine has gone lean and command higher fuel flow. If you have an aftermarket converter with a capped air injection pipe then you could pipe it to there.

Good Luck

Enviromental "legend" says oxygenated fuels are "cleaner". You might try adding 1 gallon of ethanol to your tank when it's 1/2 full then top it off with what you usually fill it with. (Unless you're already using E85 or E15)

I was going to try that but I dont know if that is enough, thats why I was thinking of the airpump.

Thanks for your help

Some areas of the US have E15 and I believe there have been a few threads about Z-people using this without any mechanical/combustion/performance problems ... I don't recall any mention of the effect on emissions. That would be the equivalent of a little more than 2 gallons (~ 8 liters) of Ethanol in a full tank. You might check your plugs too. If they are platinum tipped they could have lost the pucks and the gap might be much larger than optimum.

Im gonna do some changes to the tune, put some e85 in it and hope for the best!
Then if I still dont pass, I know a cliff not to long from the emission-station.

My plugs come pre-gapped and looks like this(I dont think they are the problem):

Its a halo plug. Bought them mostly because they claim it will last much longer than other plugs and I HATE to change plugs on this car

Those plugs just might be your HC problem. The design of that plug shrouds the spark heavily, which will reduce the intensity of the burn front, which in turn results in more unburned fuel. Hence, your increased HC emissions. I've always had good luck with Bosch Platinums. The regular ones, not the fancy +2 or +4 garbage. If you're looking for some seriously long life, look into the Denso Iridium plugs. But they're $$.

Actually they are supposed to burn more fuel then regular plugs and bring the HC down.

I dont know if that is true but I dont think they will spark worse than others.

Listen to this guy and take those plugs out of your car. Those are gimmik plugs and they shroud the spark. The R&D engineers at Champion told me this on more than one occasion and I have also seen test reports on similar plugs (E3s). I work with them on all kinds of spark plug related developments for my company. Put a single electrode plug in there.
