I ws thinking of taking out my catz but some people think it gets too loud almost unbearable. Any suggestions?

 

Taking off cats doesn't make it 'unbearable' persay...for a few people the smell may get to you...you can always just have your cats deleted with an edit prog...

 

Even if its deleted the restriction in flow is still there.

 

No its really not...its your PCM thats saying that there is a restriction in flow...you can cheat your computer to think that there are no cats and itll run as if you had no cats...the existent restriction doesn't have anything to do with it...its all about your PCM...

 

i pulled the cat off my 94 it has more rumble at idle,its wot that its loud.you can hear the cAm better.its the backfire sound when you lift out thats bad.i am going to put a bullet muffler in its place.

 

my car had no cats, and it doesn't sound really loud. Even i had an electric cut out installed. the only thing is the smell, u could smell like the car is running rich. its kinda like a strong gasoline smell. Just my .02

 

Yeah my car wasnt that loud either.....also when I removed my cats my gas mileage got 20-30 miles more to a tank...and yes the actual cat does restrict flow

 

With the 383 and longtubes, it will be very loud. It is even louder if you remove the sound insulation from under the carpet like I did.
