I hear some ticking from my rockers, but I kow that they are not suppose to be quite as stock. The yare 1.6 GMPP rockers. When the car is ideling and I go w/ a screw driver up to my ear all around the valve covers I hear no ticking..does this mean the yare fine? They seem to tick a lot at higher rpms (1000+) right before my auto shifts. Maby its normal and I am paranoid..anyone?

 

I have crane race golds that are self aligning, which are the same as the GMPP ones. Mine are much louder than stock, I can hear them with the hood shut easily. I ajusted them twice when I first installed them with the same result. I put in new lifters during my heads/cam swap and they still sound the same. I accepted it as being normal. Self aligning rockers are going to be noiser than guide plate rockers. Mine are alittle noisy at idle but once I get past about 1500 RPM I can't hear them. They shouldn't be very noticable at higher RPMs.

 

after reading posts, it's hit or miss. i had gmpp's and they were nice and quiet. i had pro mag NSA and they are nosier. as long as there's not play in the rocker (excessively) it'll be okay.

 

i ran crane golds for about a year or so and they were as quite as the stock rockers. i now have comp pro mags and they are noisey

Its kinda hard to tell if its my injectors or the rockers when driving, I know my injectors tick pretty loud.

 

LT1 Aftermarket valvetrain = Noisey

 

The best way to describe my Pro mags is sounding like a sewing machine...
