Is it louder than flowmaster? Now I have flowmaster muffler and I was thinking about changing my exhaust. My two choices are loudmouth or electrical cut-out...What do you think...

 

LM is MUCH louder than flowmaster.....cut out is louder than LM.....LM sounds a little better than cutout....

 

Out of the 3 I think Loudmouth is the worse sounding.

 

Cut out the resonator on the LM and weld a Borla XR1 in its place. Have to massage the floor pan but it tucks in fairly well. If you have no cat with a LM on an LT1, this is a must.

Whats the point of cutting the resonator out, isn't it straight through? I heard the LM on an LS1 the ther night and it sounded damn good. My only concen would be when inspection time rolls around....

 

The resonator is straight through. But on an LT1 with no cat and headers, the LM is insane loud. My ears litterally hurt after driving for a while. The Borla XR1 at least tames the beast somewhat. The LS1 cars are ok since they are not as loud but LT1's are like running with nothing after the Y-pipe.

i have heard LS1 cars with NO muffler and LM is louder than that... especialy if you take your cats off.

 

i am also contemplating going with a SLP LM exhaust. i also had an idea of buying 2 dynomax bullets and some tips and having a shop do custom piping from the cat to the bullets...ne1 know how much that would run me? would it pass inspection? how would it sound?
