How long will it last?

i have a 1996 z28 auto with about 73,000 miles on it. I am thinking of buying a 2800 tci stall that that is new. If i put it in i will get a B and M tranny cooler also. But i was talking to a tranny guy and he said that it will not last. Is this true? How long will it go for?

I have a 3200 stall and a transmission cooler...............no problems for me. Make SURE you use a cooler though. I can't lie, I've been know to hit the gas a little now and then. I have 155,000+ on my transmission.

the tranny now shifts very hard form 1-2 shift at wot and pretty good on 2-3 shift. I think that the guy before me put hypertech on it so he probable upped the line pressure with the hypertech. Anymore feed back b/c i dont have money for a new transmission.

Re: How long will it last?

To be quite honest..........it's pot luck. If you put a stall in maybe it'll last 50 years (very unlikely ) maybe it'll last 1 day. Noone can tell you how long it will last, it depends on the condition of your transmission, how you drive, and some luck. If you're basing a purchase on opinions on here you're gonna be disappointed sometimes. Nothing is the same for anyone. Good luck, if you wanna stall...............get it.

A tranny cooler is almost a must when you use a performance stall. It is just one more thing you can do to help the tranny live longer. Like what was said in the post above, it is sorta hit or miss. Only time will tell.

Thumbs up Re: How long will it last?

I put a 2500 NRC in when the car had 12k on it. I put a Vigilante 2800 in when it had about 25k. It's at 53k now and seems to still be running good. I plan on restalling with the new cam. Get it. If it breaks it breaks. Don't worry about it and just have fun and enjoy your new lack of traction.
