How and how often????

Hey guys, how do you change your fuel filter (location, how do i get to it?) and how often do most people change it? Kind of a stupid question but I would appreciate the help! Thanks

Filter is located on driver's side of car, about underneath the rear seat on the outside and is pretty close to the floorboard. It's in this general vicinity. Just jack it up and look around this area, you'll see it.

I would change it about every 15- 20,000 miles or so. Just a guess, i'm not sure what the manual calls for.

WOW 15,000-20,000 miles....

I've put 27,000 miles on my 1996 90,000 mile Formula and haven't changed the filter yet....

Guess I need to do that this weekend when I change the oil huh?

Anyone know if the filter is in the same place on an '01 V6? I'll change my wife's too while I'm at it.

I know my Haynes manual says to do it every 15,000 miles.

Make sure you take off the gas cap before you begin to remove the filter. That will relieve the pressure built up in the tank and lines. DO NOT turn the key on while the filter is off either. Wearing a set of goggles is a really good idea too.

Removing the gas cap will relieve pressure in the tank, but not the lines. Relieve line pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel rail.

I change mine once a year on principle. It's $10 bucks, so what the heck.
