How hot does your electric h2o pump LT1 run w/AC on in 95*+

I havent had my A/C charged since last night at 2am. Before then I had never seen my gauge go over 180*, since that is what PCMforless tuned the fans for. Well, today I was in traffic hell (Arlington, Texas), and was probably idling around for 30 minutes, and thats after a 30 minute drive on the highway. The gauge got up to the 210 mark, never higher, but stayed there, then on the way back I was in traffic for about an hour and it got back up to 210, but once I got some speed built up it went back to 180.

Just wondering what most of you guys see with the A/C on with an electric waterpump in very hot weather.

210 sounds about right, ive never had it go over, but I have stock temp fans still. Maybe in 100+ it will get to 220 at most, scary tho, that has to be idle for like 30 mins as well, once air starts going over the radiator it always goes back down to 180 or so.

In Honolulu driving in stop n go traffic on the freeway maxing out at 5mph. I never got above 185. After my rebuild is a different story as my radiator sat for 45 days without water in it. Things get corroded and it doesn't flow as good. I had it tested yesterday, and the radiator shop said it was very dirty and gave it a good flush and tested it again and got 1 second flow better. Paid him 20.00 cash. Today sitting in idle in the driveway it almost got to 185 before the fans kicked in and it cooled down a few degrees.

So if everything is flowing good, it shouldn't get above the first tick on an
LT-1.

Mine does the same thing. In fact even if I am out on the hiway and run the air in the 95+ temp and humidity of Florida my heat guage will go up to about 210 and the warmer it gets the crappier it runs. If I don't run the air the temp hardly ever goes up over 180, even in traffic. Air compressor is nearly new so I don't know what the problem is.

Sounds about right. Don't forget, on a hot day, the pavement is probably well over 110 degrees, so it's heating the air even more.

its always running @ a constant speed as oppossed the running it off the cam, so its not surprising.

Yea but I own two other vehicles - a pickup and a SUV and whether or not I have the air on doesn't effect the temperature a bit. Only on the Z!

I would get some aftermarket, high capacity fans.
210 is factory normal as not hot- but if ya have a built motor it's too hot.

I've also heard that with the high summer temps it's better to run a 180 thermostat because the 160 doesn't let the coolant cycle right because it's always open. A few guys have tried this in AZ and it has worked.

I've noticed the same thing in my car. when I turn the AC on the temp goes up.
The electric water pump made it run hotter on the freeway too.
