I still have my wires routed in the stock location and they seem to be doing fine so far, but I also have been meaning to throw on a set of ovc wires that I have. Headers are probably hot enough while running that If you grabbed ahold of it you'll leave your skin behind.

Coated headers still get extremely hot. I have an OVC setup with my Jet-Hots and it works great. Can't imagine keeping the stock location for the wires...that would be a huge PITA. Save yourself the trouble and make it easy on yourself and go OVC.

It gets pretty hot under the hood with coated headers, but they also cool down pretty fast! I run my plug wires under the headers, but I also have heat reflective tape wrapped around certain portions of the wires for added protection...no problems so far.

Get whichever you want. I've run both the OVC and stock location wires on my car. Infact right now on my pass side #6 and #8 are OVC, while #2 and #4 are stock routed.
