be sure to remove both motor mount bolts. you have to jack the motor up until the tranny almost hits the firewall. and dont forget to unbolt your tranny mount.

i know this is a major NO-NO, but i used the crank snout
i was in a hurry, and it was easy, and it worked. if i had it to do over again i would have found a better place, because now i have a very small rear main oil leak that wasnt there before my heads/cam. oh well live and learn i guess.

Do you have access to a motor hoist? If so hook a chain somewhere on the top of the motor and raise it that way. There is no way I would jack up the motor using the crank snout If you get lucky doing it great but if something breaks your going to be doing a lot more work than just changing oil pans I know you probably already know this but dont forget to tack weld your oil pump pickup to the oil pump so your for sure it wont fall off in the oil pan.
