How high can I rev This Motor?

With my mods below the car is making a lot more power on the top end. Were should I get the rev limiter set at with the stock short block 6,500? Higher or lower? The bottom end has 80K on it , And I don't want to blow it up. Any opinion is welcomed. Thanks Matt

Look at where your power starts to drop and add 300-400 RPM for some shifting flexibility. There are plenty who have done 7k RPM just fine, myself included. There is at least one person who made around 565 HP on the stock bottom (nitrous) and I dont think he ever blew it up before he put the 383 in.

I have my rev limiter set at 6,900. My cam pulls all the way to it on the dyno. I shift at 6,600 NA and 6,200-6,300 on the dope. Reason being I just wanted to add a little longevity to the motor. I've seen people spin stock shortblocks to 6,800-7k also. Just make sure you have a decent valvetrain.

I shift at 6200-6400. The goal isn't to rev high, it is to cut a low Et. The higher you rev an engine the more likely you are to damage it. I have shifted at 6800 before but I am not getting any performance increase so I shift as low as possible without losing performance.
