How in the hell do i get rid of this airbag light?!
Had an airbag problem changed out the defective component but now can't get rid of the damn light. ....yes i already disconnected the battery.
I really don't want to pay $80 so some monkey at the dealership can get rid of it.

I would think a scanner would be the best bet. Some codes have to be cleared before the light goes out. (not sure about this one though) But, If clearing it doesn't make it go away, you have the scanner there to tell you what the problem is. If clearing gets rid of it, then your done.
Mine turned out to be a bad BCM which I replaced at a JY for $25.00.

Sorry for the delay.....i replaced the silver box behind the glove box (what gives the airbags juice to go boom). There was no deployment and no airbag deletion.
Before the airbag light would blink 7 times then stay on when the car was started. Now it comes on once and stays on. The system was troubleshot by a pro and he said the box was bad. I didn't have the money to replace it at the time ($400). Now it's been replaced but the light stays on. I've been checking up on it and i was told that the airbag code will stay in the pcm until erased with a tech1 by the dealership and then the light will go out. I only disconnected 1 connector and it's plugged in all fuses etc are fine.
anyone know if those $200 odb readers will erase airbag codes?
