How hard would it be to replace my LT1 for this Crate engine?

Chevrolet: 350, 330 HP/380 ft.-lbs. of torque, 350 H.O. crate engine

I know I would need a new transmission at least, but I'm a newbie at everything else. Would this even be possible to do?

If you go carburated its gonna be a tight fit to shut the hood.

Hood isn't a problem. I can always get a bigger hood.

Well, is it even possible to do? Any idea AT ALL how much it would cost to make these changes?

Crate motors are usually rated without any accesories, engines thast come stock in a car are rated with all accesories installed, so that does not make as much power as you think. Plus by swapping to a gen1 you lose the reverse flow cooling. You would be much further ahead to cam what you have now. That crate motor would be a step backwards kind of like yanking a LS1 to drop a LT1 in it's place. Just my $.02 .

if reference to the above post, swapping to a GEN1 engine isnt always a stepbackwards, reverse cooling is nice, but i'll take loads more power over it.

as far as doing the swap, yes it can be done, yes it has been done, but you will no longer be emissions legal, lose the computer and ALL guages, you will have the change the cooling system out.

Rotaing assemblies are probably similar exepet the pistons, heads flow very near the same, that engine just has longer duration cam with fairly mild lift mild enough for me to ask if it is roller or not.
A cam of similar size in your current engine would be better.

Something else I missed the first time crate motors are rated with headers and your motor was rated with manifolds. What exactly was the 97 f-body rated at you might already have more power(once the differences in testing are accounted for) than this motor would offer.
