How to get to 550 hp.
I have a bone stock '94 Z28 and am planning on trying to get it to 500-550 hp. I want that much hp before I go get another car for a daily driver. I need to know what would probably be my best path to achieving this amount of power. Keep in mind that after I get a daily driver I want to make this car even more powerful and will go to forced induction (turbos) eventually, so the compression needs to stay kinda low.
I was thinking of doing a LT4 conversion, maybe even a LT4 383 stroker, but I dunno the power levels that are easily attainable (i.e. without taking the car to 15:1 compression or some other insane amount) with that combination. What do you guys think cause I obviously need help.

Hrm...ok, what would be a streetable amount of n/a power?
It is gonna get TURBOcharged after I get a daily driver...and I know you can get 550 n/a out of a 350, my friend is doing it right now...his just isn't very streetable and I wanted to know if I could achieve that power in a more streetable form.

I just had this discussion on another board about 550hp 427 LS1s vs 550hp 396 LT1s.
www.nu-tekmotorsports.com can build you a 500+hp 396 LT1.

Most LT1's people buy/build don't seem to break the 500-510hp level for some reason & end up around 430rw max. Dunno why.. 550hp isn't that difficult to achieve.. it just takes $.
Are you wanting to try to make that on the stock shortblock? 350cid is enough, but at 1.6hp/cid it'll be aggressive.. which to some of us is icing on the cake

Just like everyone else said, it shouldn't be too hard, you'll just need some money. The LT4 conversion kit is rated at 425hp. And that kit isn't the most powerful or anything. You can find better. You'll just need some money to get everything. Personally, I'd go ahead and get the Vortech and go from there.
