How fast should my car be?

I just bought a 94 z28 and It's the only lt1 that I've driven. It's and auto and it won't hardly spin the tires. It seems to run good, but it seems that the tranny takes a while to shift gears, and i have to let off the gas to get it to shift when it's floored. Should I be concerned about this? Is there a problem?

Your car should be running in the High 14s low 15s if it has alot of miles on it. For the shifting do you have that ASR traction control option for the car? If so try taking it off when flooring it. If not then It might be something else having to do with the car.

That sounds about right. My LT1 was a turd when it was stock, but they respond very well to modifications.

I would say low to mid 14's depending on gears and mileage.

When you say you have to let off for it to shift, does it hit the rev limiter if you dont? If so, that could be a couple of things. Mine was a coil wire believe it or not. At least, the first time. Did that and all was good for a year. Then the trans went. My car went 14.4 @ 96 with the A4 2.73s, 14.2 @ 99 with A4 3.42s, and 13.8 @ 101 with the MN6 and 3.42s. That auto soaks up some power.
